Privacy Policy
Reiki Session (“the app”) is a personal interval timer for Reiki and meditation, running on Wear OS watches and Android phones. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Summary
The app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Everything the app measures stays on your own device(s).
Health data (heart rate)
On the watch, the app can read your heart rate during a session to show a summary (duration, positions, average / minimum BPM, start → end heart rate) on the “Done” screen.
- Heart rate is read only while a session is active and only if you grant the Body Sensors permission.
- It is used only on your device to display the session summary.
- It is never sent to any server, never stored after the session ends, and never shared with the developer or any third party.
Phone ↔ watch sync
If you run a session on a paired phone and watch, the app keeps the two timers in sync using Android’s Wearable Data Layer (a direct connection between your own paired devices over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi). Only timer state (start/pause/stop and elapsed time) is exchanged, directly between your devices. No session data is sent to the developer or any external server.
Donations (tips)
The app offers optional tips (“Support the developer”) through Google Play Billing. Tips are entirely optional and unlock nothing — every feature is free. Payments are processed by Google Play; the developer never receives your payment details. Google’s handling of payment data is governed by the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
Permissions
- Body Sensors — to read heart rate on the watch during a session (optional).
- Notifications — to show the ongoing-session notification for the foreground timer service.
- Foreground service / Wake lock — to keep the timer and cues running reliably with the screen off.
- Vibrate — for the position-change and end-of-session cues.
- Internet / Billing — only for Google Play Billing when you choose to tip.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
